Lifestyle co-working social enterprise opens second major market; First location aimed at helping Simon solidify Hamilton Town’s Center as destination site on North side of Indianapolis.
WORTHINGTON, OHIO, July 29, 2019 – Columbus-based start-up COhatch, a social enterprise offering a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, inked its first deal with Simon Property Group to open a Hamilton Town Center location in Noblesville as its first foray into the Indianapolis market. Currently, COhatch has 10 locations in Columbus, Dayton and Springfield, Ohio.
COhatch is working with Simon on the first of several spaces in the Indianapolis area with plans to also build an additional seven locations in walkable urban areas requiring revitalization and building restoration that honors the history and architecture of each space. The goal of COhatch is to create a modern community space aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration and community.
Known for repurposing and re-energizing its spaces, COhatch is taking over a space in the heart of the retail lifestyle center that features shopping, dining, hospitality and entertainment. At its first Indianapolis site, COhatch will develop more than 7, 000 square feet of co-working and event space giving members ready access to the North side of Indianapolis. It is expected to open in the Spring of 2020.
According to COhatch founder Matt Davis, “Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville offers a great environment as a destination site for shopping, dining, hospitality and entertainment making COhatch a perfect complement for further expanding our concept. Our vision is to build vibrant communities where we enable individuals to work/meet/live and give back to the communities that they love. Our goal is to provide the spaces, locations, tools, and activities to create an ideal lifestyle for our members in the perfect first location in Indianapolis.”
The Hamilton Town Center COhatch will offer a combination of private offices, dedicated desks, game areas, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, large conference rooms, and family-friendly indoor outdoor event spaces. It also includes a standard set of business amenities (Wi-Fi, desk, fax/mail services). It also offers meeting and event spaces that are available to the community as well as COhatch members and suitable for off-site company meetings and hosting life events.
“We are so excited to welcome COhatch to Hamilton Town Center,” said Megan Earnest, Hamilton Town Center mall manager. “This is truly a unique concept and one we are looking forward to introducing to our community and giving them another compelling reason to visit.”
In building out its footprint, COhatch has been working with real estate investment trusts (REITs) to innovate by repurposing and revitalizing former retail spaces as more and more shopping malls transition to multi-use properties.
Members can access all COhatch resources and space at any of its locations throughout the Midwest.
COhatch plans to open 10 locations in the greater Indianapolis area within the next five years.
