Lifestyle co-working social enterprise opens third location at the former Gazette building in heart of downtown.

WORTHINGTON, OHIO, February 5, 2019 – Nearly one year after announcing its agreement with the City of Delaware, COhatch, a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, is unveiling its third location ‘The Newsstand’ at the site of the former Gazette building at 18 East William Street.

As with each of its locations, COhatch has renovated and restored the shared space facility to honor its historical past and transform the 9,400 square foot Gazette building to create a modern community space aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration and community.

“Our Delaware property has turned out amazing,” said Matt Davis, founder of COhatch. “Our goal was to retain the charm and architectural beauty of the original building and to update it for the next 50 years and I think we’ve done that and so much more. The local community now has a centerpiece to attract new business, grow local small businesses and live life in the center of town. We are seeing strong demand from unique firms, freelancers, attorneys, and real estate agents that love the space and enjoy the flexibility it offers for meetings and work. ”

The Newsstand caters to small businesses, start-ups and socially-minded entrepreneurs, who are looking for office space as well community members that require access to space to host social events, meet-ups and the like. COhatch Delaware houses more than 20 private offices, a dozen dedicated desks, seven meeting rooms and more than 50 spaces to co-work. It also offers meeting and event spaces that are available to community members and suitable for off-site company meetings and hosting life events.

“We want our members to thrive at work and life,” added Davis. “That is why we go to great lengths to create spaces that enable members to live out their ideal lives including a 30-person theater in Delaware, game rooms for weekend kid events at most locations, outdoor fire pits and a pub room at Polaris Fashion Place for great parties or fundraisers, and, of course, business events!”

To celebrate this milestone, COhatch will host a Speakeasy grand opening event from 6 to 10 pm est, Saturday, February 16 that is open to the public. With a Roaring Twenties theme, attendees are encouraged to come dressed from this era. The event will feature live jazz, a photo booth, old movies, complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres. In 2018, COhatch struck a deal with the City of Delaware to lease the property for 10 years. For its part, the City is investing up to $1.18 million to bring the first floor and basement to a ‘vanilla box’ state and offered a 15-year tax abatement.

According to recent studies, Delaware is one of the fastest growing counties in the state with a population approaching 40,000 people. Delaware was named a top 100 place to live in the U.S. according to MONEY magazine in 2017.

In addition, COhatch offers a standard set of business amenities (Wi-Fi, desk, fax/mail services) along with event hosting, guest reception, meeting spaces, educational workshops, lounges and common space. Members can access any and all of COhatch resources and space at any of its locations.

COhatch plans to open more than 12 total locations in Central Ohio along with a goal of 20 licensed units in the Midwest within the next five years.
