Gift will support the college and their alumni in furthering their mission of shaping culture and commerce through creativity

COLUMBUS, OHIO, December 6, 2022 – COhatch, a Columbus-based, community-driven company which develops innovative shared work and social spaces, is continuing its work with universities with an in-kind donation of $315,000 in services to the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD), one of the oldest private, nonprofit art and design colleges in the U.S, teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the midst of a thriving creative community in Columbus, Ohio.

The gift, which can be used over the next three years, includes a designated amount of coworking memberships for CCAD faculty, staff and entrepreneurial alumni, as well as access to meeting spaces. These can be used at any COhatch locations in Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland or Tampa, or in the cities the company is headed to soon, including Pittsburgh, Orlando, Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Charlotte and Nashville.

“As a CCAD alum, it’s wonderful to be in a position to give back to the place that built my creative foundation,” said Joel Limes, co-founder and co-chief branding officer at COhatch. “Our mission at COhatch is to strengthen communities, improve lives and equip people to be greater, which we hope to do by investing in students, faculty and alumni. We know that by working together we can increase our impact in the communities we serve.”

In addition to access at any physical location, the in-kind donation can also be used for COhatch+, the digital community platform recently launched by the company. COhatch+ allows members to connect with one another, list their businesses, receive member perks and more.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to bring the CCAD community along with us as we grow both physically and digitally,” said Matt Davis, co-founder and CEO of COhatch. “COhatch+ will allow recent alumni to really hone their entrepreneurial skills and utilize all of the benefits of being a part of our community.”

“Creative collaboration is inherent to the CCAD community,” said Chris Mundell, vice president for institutional engagement at CCAD. “This generous donation of professional services from COhatch will enhance ongoing collaboration and the creative process amongst faculty, staff and alumni, as well as support the CCAD community as they shape culture and commerce through creativity.”

COhatch is a leader in collaborating with institutions of higher education. The COhatch team has recently given similar gifts to other higher education institutions, including Miami University and Lake Erie College. Previously, COhatch launched a partnership with The Ohio State University to develop a Design Lab in its Gateway location, providing space for Ohio State and the community to explore, develop and expand their digital skills and engage in transformational learning.
