COhatch to restore and repurpose historic church in Broad Ripple as flagship Indianapolis location

Lifestyle co-working social enterprise to transform church into 18,000 plus square feet of flexible office, coworking, tech development and community space.


WORTHINGTON, OHIO, September 9, 2020 – Columbus-based start-up COhatch, a social enterprise offering a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, will renovate and restore Trinity Church in Broad Ripple to a coworking, event, and community and collaboration space, marking the second location of its 10-site expansion plans for Indianapolis. Broad Ripple joins its Hamilton Towne Center space in Noblesville that opens later this month.


Located between the city core and the surrounding suburbs in one of the city’s six cultural districts, COhatch Broad Ripple, 6151 Central Ave., will become the flagship location for COhatch in Indianapolis. Known for repurposing and re-energizing spaces, COhatch purchased the building earlier this year and will develop more than 18,000 square feet featuring dedicated collaboration spaces for small, medium and large companies, private offices, co-working areas, meeting rooms, indoor/outdoor event space, and fully equipped podcast rooms.

With a focus on renovating buildings, the architecturally significant space meets COhatch’s goal of creating modern spaces aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration and community in walkable, high-growth neighborhoods.

The Broad Ripple COhatch also will offer dedicated desks, game areas and family-friendly event spaces with ample parking. In addition to the standard set of business amenities (Wi-Fi, desk, fax/mail services), meeting and event spaces will be available to the community that are suitable for off-site company meetings and hosting life events.


“We foresee space being used differently moving forward as organizations adjust to the pandemic, many changing their office setups in the process,” said Davis. “We are receiving requests for large offices and coworking memberships, with businesses offering their employees flexible spaces at a time when adaptability is key. We are also seeing a significant increase in demand from larger companies wanting a decentralized suburban work solution for teams finding working from home and a downtown commute difficult.”


Already actively involved with the local non-profit community, COhatch offers the GIVE Scholarship program which provides scholarships each year to 50 501c3 organizations in each market to organizations aligned with COhatch’s philanthropic goals of helping non-profits that support anti-human trafficking/domestic violence, people experiencing homelessness, and children and adults with developmental disabilities among others. With enrollment activities from November 1 through January 1, COhatch extends free community membership to qualifying organizations providing them access to space and meeting rooms and all the amenities of a COhatch membership.


Members gain access to all COhatch resources and spaces at any of its locations throughout the Midwest including GIVE Scholarships, a Florida beach house, the “Mobi” community trailer, health and wellness coaching and special member events.

With the addition of Broad Ripple, COhatch now has 17 total locations open or under development with more than 200,000 square feet in the Midwest, representing a 20 fold increase of COhatch’s footprint since its inception in 2016.


Currently the company is running a No Business Left Behind promotion to help businesses during the pandemic.
