Lifestyle co-working social enterprise to open fourth location via partnership with city of Upper Arlington and local entrepreneurs.
WORTHINGTON, OHIO, April 5 – COhatch, a social enterprise offering a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, is developing a fourth location in Upper Arlington at The Shops on Lane Avenue.
Working with city officials and local investors from Upper Arlington, COhatch committed to a significant investment in building renovations and a 10-year lease to develop a shared space to foster innovation, collaboration, and community in the heart of Upper Arlington. The city is to provide job creation grants and tax incentives.
“Our site at The Shops at Lane Avenue is a perfect fit for our mission given its vitality and location,” said Matt Davis, co-founder of COhatch. “Our vision is to create a 2.0 version of the town hall inspired by how towns were originally designed. By developing our concept where there is a strong entrepreneurial community, we are creating a space where like-minded people can work and socialize together to get the most out of their talent and lives.”
COhatch will refurbish, repurpose and rebrand more than 10,000 square feet of the former Swan Cleaners location including the long-time vacant second floor located at 1735 West Lane Avenue. As with all its locations, the goal of COhatch is to breathe new life into an idle community asset while retaining the local charm and beauty of the area.
The new Upper Arlington location will cater to small businesses, start-ups, non-profits and social enterprises, looking for uniquely designed office space as well as community members that require access to space to host social events. In addition, COhatch offers capital and business expertise to entrepreneurial members to help scale their businesses and meet their goals.
COhatch at The Shops on Lane Avenue will house about 30 private offices, 20 dedicated desks and more than 50 spaces to co-work. It also will offer meeting and conference rooms that are available to community members and suitable for off-site company meetings.
The building will feature event space, café, game room, patio and other social spaces built to appeal to members and the local community. Members and their families can use the facility as part of the COhatch social membership program, making it easy for them to work, socialize and serve in the towns they love.
COhatch offers a standard set of business amenities (Wi-Fi, desk, fax/mail services) along with event hosting, guest reception, meeting spaces, makers spaces, maker markets, educational workshops, lounges and common space. Members can access all of COhatch resources and space at any of its locations enabling towns and people to grow and improve together.
COhatch currently has two locations in downtown Worthington, Ohio and a third is underway in Delaware. COhatch Upper Arlington is expected to open in the winter of 2018/2019.
