Lifestyle, co-working social enterprise expands presence at the Polaris Fashion Place with new flexible concept

WORTHINGTON, Ohio, December 5 – COhatch, a social enterprise offering a new kind of

shared work, social, and family space built on community, is expanding its presence at Polaris Fashion Place with “The Hub,” a new flexible, retail gathering space inside Polaris that features coworking and conference space for its members. The Hub build out represents the first-of-its-kind in Central Ohio.

Located between The Gap and Express, the 21 x 24 foot Hub is ideal for COhatch members

looking for a unique venue to host a meeting or to get closer to their customers. It also will

offer members the ability to host a workshop or seminar that’s open to the public.

In addition, Madery members of the COhatch community will be able to exhibit and sell their wares in this high-traffic area as part of their Madery membership benefits. The new shared space concept embraces the spirit of a pop up shop or retail launchpad in a high visibility area. It also gives Madery merchants a great way to test out and launch new products and services without the risk inherent in untested business models.

According to COhatch founder Matt Davis, “What we are doing at Polaris Fashion Place is

something innovative and fresh that offers our members new and exciting ways to connect with customers, partners and employees all while getting incredible exposure. We are giving them all of the tools they need to advance their brands using a shared services model where they can eliminate the risk and can take advantage of the reward nearly instantaneously.”

“As we’ve said before, our vision is to provide the spaces, locations, tools, and activities to

create an ideal lifestyle for our members enabling us to build our amenities for members in our near-perfect location anchored by a large and successful retail location,” Davis added.

The work to develop The Hub is a part of COhatch’s agreement with Washington Prime Group, previously announced in July, to expand and integrate its concept further within Polaris Fashion Place.

Set to open in January, COhatch is currently co-creating and co-developing space at Polaris with the takeover and restoration of “The Pub,” located at the Polaris Lifestyle Center near Barnes & Noble and The Cheesecake Factory. By day, The Pub will serve as a co-working space and by night a craft beer bar and entertainment venue that includes an area dedicated to local microbrewers.

The Hub will complement COhatch’s presence at the mall including its soon-to-be flagship

location The Pub, located at 1554 Polaris Parkway, that will offer approximately 7,000 square

feet of private offices, dedicated desks, game areas, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, large conference rooms, indoor and outdoor event spaces, and a full liquor license and bar. It will also include a standard set of business amenities such as Wi-Fi, desk and fax/mail services. Members can access all COhatch resources and space at any of its locations.

Nationally, coworking space in retail properties will grow at a rate of 25.0 percent annually through 2023 and reach approximately 3.4 million square feet, finds recent research from JLL.

COhatch currently has two locations in Worthington, Ohio, and four others under construction. The Delaware location “The Newsstand” will open this Fall, the Upper Arlington location “The Overlook,” Polaris “The Pub” will open this Winter and Springfield is set to open mid-2019. Members can access all COhatch resources and space at any of its locations.

COhatch plans to open more than 12 total locations in Central Ohio within the next five years.
