Lifestyle brand aimed at fostering community extends its coworking DNA to Top 3 Ohio major metros
WORTHINGTON, OHIO, March 5, 2020 – Columbus-based start-up COhatch, a social enterprise offering a new kind of shared work, social, and family space built on community, continues its mission- driven expansion plans with the announcement of another 10 locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and signs its first in-market deal with Legacy Village owners’ First Interstate Properties in Lyndhurst on the city’s near East side.
“COhatch is moving quickly to develop and open our community-centric approach to coworking throughout Ohio,” said Matt Davis, co-founder and CEO of COhatch. “With the addition of this key Ohio market, our members will be able to access COhatch work locations in every major city in Ohio so they can increase their professional ties, tap into local community resources and grow their businesses with an established resource. Our concept offers so much more than traditional coworking spaces so our members can live their best authentic lives.”
The COhatch footprint now includes 40 locations since the company’s inception in 2016. COhatch operates 10 locations in Columbus, Dayton and Springfield, Ohio and another 10 each are planned for Indianapolis, Cincinnati and now Cleveland -- representing a quadrupling of its footprint since the company’s inception in 2016.
Known for repurposing and re-energizing its spaces, COhatch will completely renovate the former Charming Charlie space at Legacy Village, a first-class lifestyle center offering the best in shopping, dining and entertainment. COhatch will be located in the heart of the complex, near Crate & Barrel and Arhaus Furniture, that is home to an upscale collection of more than 45 national retailers, specialty boutiques, world-class restaurants and entertainment concepts including LA Fitness, LL Bean, Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and The Capital Grille.
At its first Cleveland area site in Lyndhurst, COhatch will develop nearly 10,000 square feet of co-working and social space giving members ready access to the East side of Cleveland, where it is expected to open before the end of 2020. COhatch plans to build other locations on the East side and expand to the West and South sides of town.
COhatch will develop another nine locations in Cleveland, many in walkable urban areas requiring revitalization and building restoration that honors the history and architecture of each space. The goal of COhatch is to create a modern community space aimed at fostering innovation, collaboration and community.
According to Davis, “We are giving local residents another reason to work, meet, live in the vibrant communities that they love. We see Cleveland as a perfect fit for our lifestyle concept that brings together entrepreneurs, start-ups, non-profits and large companies in a community townhall 2.0 concept where we provide the space, locations, tools and activities to help individuals and organizations flourish.”
The Legacy Village COhatch will offer a combination of private offices, dedicated desks, game areas, co-working spaces, meeting rooms, large conference rooms, and family-friendly indoor-outdoor event spaces. It also includes a standard set of business amenities (Wi-Fi, desk, fax/mail services).
The meeting and event spaces will be available to the community as well as COhatch members and are suitable for hosting off-site company meetings and celebratory life events.
“COhatch is a great addition to Legacy Village and the East side of town,” said Susan Windle, General Manager of Legacy Village. “This is truly a unique concept that aligns well with our brand, complements our lifestyle center and focuses on providing the community with a great resource for living out their most fulfilled lives close to home.”
Members gain access to all COhatch resources and spaces at any of its locations throughout the Midwest including a Florida beach house, the “Mobi” community trailer, health and wellness coaching, special member events and much more.
