COhatch adds new meaning to Work-Meet-Live motto

Lifestyle co-working social enterprise partners with POINT app, Relā and Telhio to support local non-profits in achieving their missions.

WORTHINGTON, OHIO, July 16, 2019 – COhatch was founded on helping members to live a fully integrated life that balances work, family, well-being, community and giving back. Today COhatch is taking its mission of giving back one step further by unveiling a new comprehensive program that supports both its members and local non-profits through new partnerships with POINT, Relā and Telhio Credit Union.

COhatch is joining forces with POINT to become the first company to provide the Ohio-based social impact platform to their members and GIVE scholars (COhatch’s annual program to support non-profits). The POINT app will empower COhatch members to easily sign up for local charity events and allow COhatch to track its collective social impact. Today, the app boasts more than 100 local non-profits and nearly 4,000 users in Columbus.

“Local non-profits have been left in the tech stone age, which is why we built POINT,” Madison Mikhail Bush, CEO of POINT, notes. In fact, 75 percent of non-profits use pen and paper and outdated technology to log hours, create reports and manage volunteers.

“COhatch is creating an ecosystem to grow local non-profits by meeting their needs for a place to work and other programs to support their growth,” Mikhail Bush continues. “POINT is thrilled to be the tech resource we know other non-profits need. We’ve dreamed of being a part of a community that shares resources to drive change and COhatch is doing just that. We won’t be surprised if we see other companies start to do the same in the future."

While POINT is based locally, COhatch leader Matt Davis and Mikhail Bush have greater plans. POINT will support COhatch as the shared space leader expands not only regionally but nationally. “We’re excited to support local non-profits in communities across the United States with COhatch,” added Mikhail Bush.

To help non-profit leaders thrive, COhatch is partnering with Relā to provide ongoing leadership training opportunities to GIVE scholars. Each organization will be able to take advantage of a $2,500 package that includes a combination of five in-person and online training classes. The classes are aimed at a leadership model for servant leadership, where attendees learn how to best serve others in order to build their businesses.

In addition, Relā will offer discounted packages to members of COhatch starting in late August with its six-hour flagship program on developing servant leaders.

“The COhatch community is so attractive and inspiring –– the vibrancy and the interesting spaces and the community of non-profits and entrepreneurs that think about the greater good is such a draw for us,” said Shannon Lee, executive director of Relā. “Our mission is to impact the non-profit community and our partnership with COhatch enables us to further execute on our mission and give back to the community.”

Rounding out the non-profit package is COhatch’s arrangement with Telhio, who is offering financial services to non-profits at reduced rates on checking accounts and checks and free services for bill pay, debit card, online banking, mobile banking, notary services, electronic signatures and automated telephone access.

“This really is all COhatch is about – connecting communities and members to communities – and giving back,” said COhatch Founder and Community Orchestrator Matt Davis. “We started this concept in Worthington and have always been about an integrated lifestyle for members since Day 1. Now that we are able to put the full force of the COhatch community behind local non-profits, we are taking our business model to the next level by partnering with innovative companies like POINT app and Relā. To us, this is critical to building out the infrastructure required as we expand regionally and then nationally.”

The new partnerships complement its own GIVE Scholarship program which offers scholarships each year to 25 to 30 501c3 organizations that are aligned with COhatch’s philanthropic goals of helping organizations that support anti-human trafficking/domestic violence, homeless populations, and children and adults with developmental disabilities among others. With enrollment activities from November 1 through January 1, COhatch extends free community membership to qualifying organizations that offers them access to space and meeting rooms and all the other amenities of a COhatch membership.

Recently ranked No.1 in coworking by Columbus Business First, COhatch has seven locations across central Ohio. All locations feature a combination of private offices, dedicated desks, generous co-working spaces, unique meeting rooms, large conference rooms, and indoor and outdoor event spaces. It also includes a standard set of business amenities such as Wi-Fi, desk, and coffee and fax/mail services. Members can access all COhatch resources and space at any of its locations.

COhatch plans to open more than 12 total locations in Central Ohio along with a goal of 20 licensed units in the Midwest within the next five years.
