New locations to help social enterprise spread its mission, empower victims of human trafficking.

WORTHINGTON, OHIO, September 27, 2018 –– Eleventh Candle Co., a social enterprise dedicated to empowering at risk individuals, will open its second retail location as a free-standing retail kiosk at Polaris across from the Apple store on October 5. The candle maker will set up its third location as a temporary pop store at Tuttle Crossing by the downstairs Starbucks on November 1.

Eleventh Candle Co Polaris will provide a “safe space” for those in need as well as offer help and educational materials to affected individuals. Tuttle will provide educational materials in an effort to raise awareness about human trafficking – a growing problem in central Ohio and the state at large.

By locating new bricks and mortar stores in high-traffic areas, Eleventh Candle Co is accelerating its mission to restore, empower and employ those vulnerable to human trafficking, exploitation and addiction. In addition to employing individuals at above minimum wage, Eleventh provides trauma-informed counseling to employees.

At its new locations, Eleventh will offer its 11-scent candle collection, room sprays, cards, gifts subscription boxes and apparel. In addition, Eleventh will host candle-making parties onsite for customers that want to pour their own candles to create their own unique scents from 40 fragrances at Polaris and their original retail site, The Madery in Worthington.

“As I always say, one candle can make a difference,” said Amber Runyon, CEO and founder of Eleventh Candle Co. “With our retail shops at high-visibility locations like Polaris and Tuttle, we will be able to exponentially touch more people and bring our message to millions locally. We are both raising attention to this escalating social issue and being a part of the solution.”

Polaris and Tuttle mall locations will offer grand opening specials during the first week they are open. Specials on merchandise and other promotions are on tap for visitors at all three locations (Polaris, Tuttle, The Madery). Polaris and Tuttle hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 pm Sundays at Polaris and 11 am to 6 pm Sundays at Tuttle.

Today Eleventh produces its candle collection at COhatch’s Madery – Makers and Market in Worthington and sells them through its website, wholesalers and onsite at the makers mart.

The candle company plans to grow its candle making operations by setting up 10 retail outlets in the Midwest over the next three years with funding, production space and synergistic opportunities underwritten by COhatch, the lifestyle coworking company based in Worthington.
